What are CBD Gummies for Pain?

Published: | Updated: | Read time: 2 min

CBD gummies are edible gummies infused with cannabidiol (CBD), a compound known for its potential wellness benefits due to its interaction with the body’s endocannabinoid system. CBD gummies also typically contain other ingredients that may indirectly support pain relief.

Inflammation

CBD’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system influences receptors and neurotransmitters throughout the body, which research shows may have a positive impact on inflammation, pain, stress, and more.

Several studies, examining the impacts of CBD on inflammation, have found that CBD played a role in reducing inflammation in the body [1] [2] [3]. So while many users are hoping to take CBD gummies to relieve pain, they can also help with inflammation, which may also be a part of your plan for managing pain anyway.

Full Spectrum CBD or Broad Spectrum CBD

When looking to purchase CBD gummies, you’ll start to notice the terms “full spectrum” or “broad spectrum” appear on labels. Full spectrum CBD contains all compounds naturally found in the cannabis plant, including THC. However, most full spectrum CBD gummies contain trace amounts of THC, 0.3% to be exact, to follow the federal regulations. The combination of THC and CBD is powerful and can enhance the effects of the product.

Broad spectrum CBD is similar to full spectrum, but it excludes THC. This can be beneficial for those who aren’t comfortable consuming THC or may have an upcoming drug test.

You can also find other CBD options, but CBD gummies for pain will typically come in these two options.

CBD Gummies for Pain

We want to be clear that CBD gummy companies are not allowed to market CBD gummies for pain. CBD gummies are not FDA approved to treat pain and you should be wary of any product that is marketing their CBD products to do so.

As seen in the studies we mentioned above, CBD shows promising results in its effect on pain, but it should not be seen as a replacement for treatment plans recommended by your primary care physician.

CBD gummies are not made specifically to treat pain, but moreso, to generally support wellness, which may have an impact on various aspects of your health, such as pain.
