RSO Dosage Chart & Guide: How much RSO To Take

👍 Share:

Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) shook the cannabis world due to its potent, undiluted concentration of cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant sterols made from marijuana plants. However, its highly viscous nature and the legal implications of its high THC content can pose challenges.

We've recognized these challenges and introduced the first ever Real Scandinavian Oil (RSO) — a unique blend with ultra-high cannabinoid concentrations from Scandinavian hemp in user-friendly formats.

This isn't your typical CBD oil — our version of the RSO cannabis oil is a meticulous fusion of the best of both worlds. We've found a way to harness the revered potency of traditional RSO oil and adapt it for a broader audience while retaining the potential therapeutic benefits without the complications of legality or usability.

In this article, we'll discuss common practices for dosing Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) and our newest offering of Real Scandinavian Oil (RSO) tinctures, gummies, and capsules.

What's Considered a "Normal RSO Dosage?"

There's no standardized dosage for Rick Simpson oil — or other cannabis products, for that matter — because there are so many factors that can influence its effects on an individual. As experts say, a good starting point for beginners is to ingest an amount equivalent to half a grain to a full grain of rice.

RSO Dosage Chart (Rick Simpson Oil)

A 1:1 ratio of CBD to THC offers a balance of the two major cannabinoids and will produce psychoactive effects, but the effects can be quite different from a syringe that leans heavily towards THC or CBD. Depending on the desired outcome, whether it be pain relief, relaxation, or other therapeutic benefits, the ratio will play a significant role in determining the effective dosage.

For those considering a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio, here's a general dosage chart as a starting point:

Week Daily Dosage (Morning and Evening) Total Daily Amount
1 1 grain of rice size (0.5 morning, 0.5 evening) 1 grain of rice size
2 2 grains of rice size (1 morning, 1 evening) 2 grains of rice size
3 3 grains of rice size (1.5 morning, 1.5 evening) 3 grains of rice size
4 4 grains of rice size (2 morning, 2 evening) 4 grains of rice size

As always, it's imperative to proceed with caution. While increasing the dose, it's crucial to remain observant of any changes in how the body or mind reacts.

RSO, given its potent nature, requires a careful approach to dosing. A widely accepted starting point for beginners is to ingest an amount equivalent to half a grain to a full grain of rice. Yes, these are very small amounts, but remember, traditional RSO is essentially pure cannabis extract, so you don't need much.

Some users adopt the practice of gradually escalating their dosages and then taking a tolerance break (abstaining from cannabis use) to reset their tolerance. With RSO syringes, which allow for some precision in measuring, this process can be systematically managed.

A typical RSO syringe contains 1 ml of extract, which weighs close to 1 gram. The extract usually contains between 60% and 80% THC, so you can expect around 600 to 800 mg of THC per 1 ml of RSO. This information can help you calculate your perfect dose so you don’t overdo it.

A common approach involves incrementally increasing the dosage every few days or weeks, allowing the body to adapt and helping the user pinpoint an optimal dosage level.

In addition to adjusting your dose, choosing the right RSO product can also make a difference. There are different strains of RSO syringes available in the market. These may have varying levels or ratios of CBD to THC.

Factors to Dosing RSO Oil

1. Body Weight

Just as with many medications and supplements, body weight plays a significant role in determining dosage. An individual with a higher body weight might metabolize substances differently than someone with a lower body weight, often requiring a larger dose to achieve the same effects.

2. Tolerance to Cannabis Extracts

If you're a regular cannabis user, your body might have built up a tolerance to cannabinoids.

This means you may need a higher dose compared to someone who is trying RSO for the first time. It's essential to gauge your body's response and adjust accordingly.

Even if you have a high tolerance to THC, start with an RSO dose roughly the size of a grain of rice, or around 0.03 ml. This dose will contain approximately 18 to 24 mg of THC. Experienced THC users might be tempted to take more, but RSO can hit harder than regular cannabis edibles, so it’s best to start low.

Not feeling it? Users with a very high THC tolerance may have to take 0.1 to 0.5 ml of RSO to feel the effects. Increase your dose gradually until you find your sweet spot. Taking the oil with something fatty, like a spoonful of peanut butter, can also enhance absorption and improve potency.

3. Purpose of Use

The reason you're turning to RSO or CBD oil can have a substantial impact on the dosage.

If you're seeking relaxation or minor pain relief, a smaller dose with regular CBD products might suffice. However, RSO oil was always designed for those who needed extremely potent dosages. Even within the range of dosing RSO, there are lighter ends of the spectrum and heavy-duty dosages (we'll get into this shortly).

For instance, because of its high THC concentration, RSO is famous for its typical marijuana high. Traditional Rick Simpson Oil will get you high if ingested in high dose.

4. The Product

We live in a golden age of cannabis products. With a click of a mouse, you can have access to hundreds of cannabis products — but unfortunately, there will be a few duds out there as not all products are made of the same quality.

Depending on the extraction method, plant type, and other factors, the concentration of cannabinoids can vary widely between products. Always refer to the product's label or accompanying literature to understand its specific concentration and recommended starting dosage.

5. Mode of Administration

The method by which you introduce RSO into your body can affect its absorption rate and efficacy. For instance, taking RSO sublingually (under the tongue) can lead to faster absorption than if you were to ingest it. Similarly, mixing RSO with foods might delay the onset of its effects due to digestion processes.

More recently, vaping or dabbing RSO has become very popular for its convenience and fast-acting effects.

This method heats the oil, allowing it to be inhaled directly into the lungs. As a result, the effects are almost immediate, as it bypasses the digestive system entirely. However, vaping or dabbing RSO products also require specialized equipment and might offer a more concentrated experience, which new users should approach with caution.

6. Medication

As with many substances, there's the potential for interaction between RSO and certain medications. It's possible that RSO could either amplify or diminish the effects of some drugs or vice-versa.

We want to encourage you to seek professional medical advice before introducing medical cannabis-grade products into your routine if you're on medications or have a health condition.

Dosing RSO Products

While Rick Simpson Oil packs a punch with its THC levels, Real Scandinavian Oil leans more into the diverse world of cannabinoids.

Rick Simpson Oil hails from marijuana plants and is known for its rich, undiluted concentration of cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant sterols. On the flip side, Real Scandinavian Oil takes its inspiration from the serene landscapes of Scandinavia.

Made from Scandinavian hemp, this blend focuses on a broader spectrum of beneficial compounds. With a lineup featuring CBD, CBDA, CBG, THCA, CBN, CBGA, and CBC, it's like a holistic team ready to support your wellness journey.

Our RSO is blended into user-friendly formats, like tinctures, gummies, and capsules, making it a breeze to incorporate into your daily routine. No mess, no fuss.

Let's review each RSO product we offer and how to dose them effectively.

1. RSO Tincture Dose Measurements (mg/ml)

Regarding our Real Scandinavian Oil tincture, every drop is a potent dance of cannabinoids. To give you a clearer picture, every 0.5 ml serves up a hearty 66.6 mg of RSO. But how much should you consider taking?

Let's lay it out based on weight and desired effect:

Body Weight Light Dose(mg) Moderate Dose(mg) Strong Dose(mg)
Under 130lbs 10-20mg (0.15-0.3ml) 20-40mg (0.3-0.6ml) 40-60mg (0.6-0.9ml)
120-230lbs 20-40mg (0.3-0.6ml) 40-60mg (0.6-0.9ml) 60-80mg (0.9-1.2ml)
Over 230lbs 40-60mg (0.6-0.9ml) 60-80mg (0.9-1.2ml) 80-100mg (1.2-1.5ml)

Understanding how to use RSO tinctures effectively is crucial for optimal results, ensuring that each individual can maximize the potential benefits while tailoring the dosage to their unique needs and circumstances.

Keep in mind these are just guidelines. We're all wonderfully unique, so always listen to your body, start slow, and adjust as needed.

2. RSO Gummies (Real Scandinavian Oil) Measurement (mg/ml)

The potent cannabinoid blend in our RSO gummies makes them quite powerful. If you're new to cannabinoids or have a lower tolerance, it might be beneficial to start with our full spectrum CBD gummy bears or take the mid-way step with our CBD gummy squares for a milder introduction.

Remember, gummies can take a bit longer to kick in compared to other methods, so go easy on these gummies and be patient.

Weight Range High Dose Ultra High Dose
Under 130lbs 115mg (1 gummy) 230mg (2 gummies)
130-200lbs 230mg (2 gummies) 345mg (3 gummies)
200lbs+ 345mg (3 gummies) 460mg (4 gummies)

Please keep in mind that these dosages are higher than typical
CBD dosing guidelines.

3. RSO Capsules (Real Scandinavian Oil) Dose (mg/ml)

Inside each of our RSO capsules lies a potent concentration of Real Scandinavian Oil, meticulously crafted to deliver a powerful cannabinoid experience.

It's worth noting that these 200 mg RSO capsules can't be cut into halves, so we recommend taking two capsules at most per day. However, RSO can be expensive, so opt for RSO capsule from a minimum of 30 dollars to 100 dollars.

How Much RSO is Too Much?

RSO, in its concentrated form, carries the potential for a strong physiological response. While it's derived from natural sources and is non-toxic, overindulging can sometimes yield unintended side effects.

When taken in higher-than-needed quantities, some individuals might experience symptoms such as dizziness or a light-headed feeling. In more pronounced cases, feelings of paranoia or heightened anxiety can emerge. This underscores the importance of a "start low and go slow" approach.

Factors like body weight, tolerance developed over time, and individual biochemistry play a role in how one reacts to any given dosage of RSO. This variability is why personal experimentation, always within safe boundaries, is crucial.

Another point to consider is the cumulative effect. Just as with any other substance, regular and excessive consumption over extended periods can potentially lead to a buildup of tolerance. This might prompt individuals to take more to achieve the same effects, which isn't always advisable.

What to Do if You've Taken Too Much RSO

If you find yourself in a situation where you suspect you've consumed a bit more than your comfort zone allows, here's what to do:

  1. Stay Calm: The immediate impulse might be to panic, especially if you're experiencing heightened sensations or anxiety. However, take a deep breath and remind yourself that RSO is non-toxic. The feelings, though potentially intense, are temporary.
  2. Hydrate: Drinking water won't necessarily "flush out" the RSO from your system, but staying hydrated can help you feel more alert and might help mitigate some unwanted sensations.
  3. Rest: The body has a remarkable ability to regulate itself. Sometimes, all it needs is a little downtime. Find a quiet, comfortable place to lie down. Close your eyes, take deep breaths, and allow the body and mind to relax. Listening to calming music or meditative tracks might also help ease the experience.
  4. Distract Yourself: Engaging in a light activity can sometimes divert your mind from the overwhelming sensations. Maybe watch a comforting movie, read a book, or chat with a friend. The goal is to shift your focus.
  5. Eat Something: Having a light snack or meal can sometimes help ground you. Opt for something easy to digest.
  6. Consult a Professional: If, after trying the above steps, you still feel uncomfortable or if the symptoms seem severe, it's crucial to seek medical advice. Even though RSO is naturally derived and non-toxic, it could be the best choice to reach out to a healthcare professional in situations where you're uncertain.

Dosing RSO and What to Be Aware Of

Rick Simpson Oil was a game-changer in the cannabis world. Its highly concentrated nature, brimming with cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant sterols, promises profound effects. Yet, its very potency and the associated challenges, including legal implications and dosage complexities, beckoned for innovation.

Our Real Scandinavian Oil is a thoughtful reinterpretation of the traditional RSO, hailing from Scandinavian hemp and designed with the user in mind. Our RSO not only offers the benefits of a potent cannabinoid blend but also presents them in user-friendly formats such as tinctures, gummies, and capsules, making accurate dosing more achievable.

However, the journey to finding your 'just right' dosage is personal and, often, an evolving one.

While we've provided guidelines based on factors like weight and product type, the true measure lies in your own experience.

Start low, adjust slowly, and always prioritize your well-being.
