Certified Cannabis Practicing Doctor
Dr. Karkov holds a Bachelor's degree from Aarhus University, where his final thesis focused on the potential of cannabidiol (CBD) as an alternative treatment for hypertension.
He grew up in the small Danish town of Skjern, where he developed a passion for sports, including soccer, golf, handball, and basketball. Handball became his primary focus, which he played for nearly a decade. His engagement in various sports deepened his interest in human anatomy and physiology, ultimately leading him to pursue a degree in medicine at Aarhus University.
Dr. Karkov is also deeply committed to optimizing health and well-being. He maintains an active lifestyle, regularly working out, engaging in cold plunges during the winter, and running. Recently, he has begun exploring the effects of biomechanics on the body, an area he feels is not sufficiently addressed within the medical curriculum at Aarhus University, possibly due to its unconventional approach compared to established teachings over the past century. Nevertheless, he believes strongly in the future of alternative medicine and biohacking and advocates for greater emphasis on these topics in medical education.
His interest in cannabis was sparked during his work on his bachelor's thesis, titled "Can Cannabidiol Serve as an Alternative Pharmaceutical for the Treatment of Hypertension?" Through his research, he was struck by the wide range of benefits CBD could offer, reinforcing his belief in the potential of alternative therapies.
