Does CBN Make You High?

👍 Share:

Cannabinol, or CBN, doesn’t really get you high. It can be a little confusing because CBN is considered to be psychoactive. This means it can falter the brain’s functions, but its psychoactive effects are extremely mild, especially when compared to THC. If taken in very high doses, CBN may have mild psychotropic effects, but it is not typically recommended to use CBN that way.

CBN is most associated with its sleep-supporting qualities, which may make people feel more relaxed than usual.

What Does a CBN High Feel Like?

A CBN high is not really a high. CBN effects are most commonly reported as calming, relaxing, and sleep-promoting.

Although there aren’t studies to prove the precise dosing behind how much CBN it would take to feel high, there have been reports from people taking really strong doses upward of 60-80 MG that they felt euphoric. But again, CBN is not typically used for these effects since there are other cannabinoids, like THC or CBD, that are better suited for this purpose.

The most common use for CBN is sleep support, as users report sedative-like effects when taking CBN. So, you won’t feel high, but rather a more intense relaxation. This relaxation may also lead to other potential benefits worth exploring. A woman laying relaxed with her eyes closed on a bench in the park

What Do People Think?

Reviews of customers experienced high by taking CBN products

  • CBN Oil
    • “I do prefer the CBN Tincture just beacuse you can control the dose better and it kicks in quicker. The capsules can take an hour or longer and somemtimes because I'm so sensitive to it, the small amount of THC in them makes me a little high, but they do definitely work for me. But I can't take the capsuls RIGHT before bed because of how long it takes to work. So if I forget to take one before dinner, the tincture is a life saver.”
  • CBN Oil
    • “The use of CBN through a 1:1 CBD:CBN sublingual tincture tends to leave me feeling notably groggy, lethargic, and with a mild sense of being high. I once experienced dry mouth, which alarmed me, and now I approach dosing with caution.”
  • CBN Gummy
    • “After 30 minutes of consuming the gummy, I felt so relaxed like as if everything just kind of slowed down - my thoughts, anxiety, stress, everything. Laying in bed felt like a cloud, I never woke up once! Then, the next morning, I actually felt more energetic, ZERO drowsiness, and EXTREMELY well rested.”

The Overall CBN High Feeling

CBN is created from degraded THC, so it is technically psychoactive. However, these psychoactive effects can’t really be compared to what we usually consider to be psychoactive effects. When we think of psychoactive, we’re actually thinking of psychotropics, and CBN is only known to produce mild psychotropic effects at very high doses.
